In partnership with Danish Refugee Council (DRC)
AISVIP implemented a targeted vocational skills training programme to empower vulnerable men and women living in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps across MMC and Jere LGAs in Borno State. The project aimed to enhance self-reliance, restore dignity, and reduce economic vulnerability among displaced populations.
Participants received integrated training and support in carpentry, leatherwork, tailoring, soap production, welding, aluminum fabrication, as well as entrepreneurship and small business development, and financial literacy and basic money management to strengthen their capacity for sustainable income generation.
The programme combined hands-on skills development with business and financial capacity building to ensure sustainable livelihood outcomes.
Training sessions were designed to be practical, inclusive, and aligned with local market demands. Special emphasis was placed on gender inclusion to ensure equal participation and benefit for both men and women.
